Davis Women's Circles

Come experience the fun, magic, and power of women together.

Davis, CA

Are you craving connection and community with other like-minded women?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve found story-telling incredibly freeing, healing, and powerful. And when women gather with intention to share stories, be real, and skip the awkward small talk? Oh la la! Watch out world—magic happens!

  • Women feel seen, heard, and validated.
  • Connections form.
  • Understanding grows.
  • Collective wisdom is remembered.
  • Inspiration blooms.
  • Motherhood is redefined.
  • Communities thrive.

This is why I’m thrilled to offer in-person women’s circles in Davis, California. A women’s circle is a special, intimate event where women gather together in a warm and uplifting environment to connect meaningfully and explore a pre-selected theme. We talk, laugh, probably cry (in a good way), eat yummy food, drink tea, and enjoy memorable activities and practices together.

A women’s circle is an opportunity to step out of the ordinary hustle of life and step into a space of community, love, and compassion. They are offered throughout the year, and are created for any mama or mama-to-be. You’ll find there are pregnancy-specific, as well as motherhood-specific groups.

Beautiful mama or mama-to-be: Come as you are.

Open circles are open to the public while closed circles are for women wanting to meet with the same group over a period of time. No prior experience necessary.

I loved having a dedicated time and space to reflect on motherhood and what surprised me about motherhood. My time listening to others was just as valuable as my time sharing. Listening to others helped me realize motherhood has shocked the heck out of us in so many different ways and I’m not alone in the struggles (and of course joy) it brings. Feeling that I’m not alone brings a sense of peace and camaraderie of motherhood.

Finding a place to share honestly and vulnerably about the intimacies of motherhood is a special and healing thing. Hearing other women's stories, too, is a powerful way to combat the loneliness of thinking "is it just me or am I failing at this?" in the day-to-day stressors of being a mom. Knowing we're not alone and learning from one another's journeys is empowering and encouraging in life-giving ways.

I enjoyed the blend of deep discussion and relaxed activities at the recent Davis women's circle event. It was the perfect balance of self-work and community bonding. The facilitator created a safe, judgment-free space for us to open up, share our stories, and support one another.

It’s the time for myself I never knew I needed. It was a warm and welcoming group with no judgements and honest insights into motherhood.

I enjoyed having time to reflect on and acknowledge the profound and ongoing impact motherhood has on my life. It was so helpful to hear from other moms who are in different stages of mothering.

Guiding Beliefs

  • Pregnancy and motherhood launch every woman on a grand adventure that changes everything.
  • You matter, are unique, and have a special purpose in this world. There is only one you (how cool!) and you’re not meant to be a clone of your friend, neighbor, sister, or co-worker. You are meant to be—you!
  • We are all works in progress. One of life’s greatest mysteries is discovering who we are.
  • When we nurture our whole person—the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual parts of us—we’re more likely to flourish, enjoy life and positively impact our families and world.
  • Society has a lot to say about what pregnancy and motherhood should look like. Women are bombarded with pressures, expectations, stereotypes, and myths (like what makes a “good mother”). This leads to overwhelm, burnout, mom guilt, isolation, and mental health problems.
  • We live in a patriarchal society that is oppressive and preferentially values masculine over feminine qualities. It celebrates productivity, profit, and individualism and promotes these at all costs. This only benefits a sliver of society.
  • Knowledge is power and allows us to take charge of our lives, health, and wellness. It also allows us to advocate for ourselves and loved ones in the healthcare system.
  • We are not helpless. Harnessing insight, awareness, and courage allow us to live with intention through which we can embrace what resonates with us and ditch what doesn’t serve us or our fellow humans.
  • Growth and self-discovery occur in safe spaces. To Carry Wonder sessions are confidential, and aim to be encouraging, respectful, and non-judgmental. In individual sessions, they adapt to your mood, energy level, and needs for the day.
  • Together, we can redefine motherhood! Women have the power to revolutionize the way motherhood is valued, discussed, and supported by society.
  • Changing our understanding of motherhood is also a gift for our children. They inherit a redefined and more nuanced understanding of womanhood and modern motherhood—something they can carry into their future relationships, work, and life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it selfish to invest in myself?

It’s not and here’s why: When we’re thriving and fulfilled, everyone around us benefits. Being the best version of ourselves is the best gift we can give. We are more present, aware, patient, resilient, vibrant, insightful, and fun. We have more capacity to engage. So, investing in ourselves is an investment into our families, communities and workplaces.

Is this a parenting advice circle?

No, it is not. The purpose of this group is for women to have a safe, warm and refreshing space to connect, be real about pregnancy and/or motherhood, and be nurtured through various activities and practices. This space is intended to be an empowering and judgment-free space, so we can sit back, enjoy one another’s company and not feel the need to give advice or try to fix one another.

Am I the only one who finds motherhood difficult?

Definitely not, dear mama! Currently, modern society is not set up to help women flourish—especially in pregnancy and motherhood. Many mamas often feel forgotten, isolated, overwhelmed, burned out, and under supported. No wonder perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect one in five women. However, with more support, self-awareness, and advocacy, we can work to together to change this for ourselves and others.

Is there an age cut-off for who can join a circle?

Nope, all mamas and pregnant women are welcome! Women grow throughout all seasons of pregnancy and motherhood. In fact, who we are and what mothering looks like evolves as our children go through their own developmental milestones. So, this means that in some circles, we’ll get to enjoy multi-generational richness and wisdom!

I am currently pregnant and also have children. Should I join a pregnancy or a motherhood circle?

Great question, mama! Feel free to join either or both. What’s your heart’s desire? I encourage you to find a circle theme you’re interested in and also consider whether you’d like to expand your village of pregnant women or those already in the trenches.

Are you providing medical care through your services?

I am not. The services are, in no way, intended to serve as medical advice, or override, delay or substitute your healthcare with your maternity or health care provider. By working together through women’s circles, coaching or consulting, we are not creating a nurse practitioner-patient relationship.

I will not be diagnosing physical or mental health problems; advising or treating existing health conditions; ordering labs or medications; or reviewing health records. However, my hope is that our work together will help support and empower you.

Where are women’s circles held?

They are usually offered in-person in Davis, California. However, I do also periodically offer on-line group coaching sessions which are open to women globally. Please check out the coaching services page to learn more.

Can women circle sessions be gifted?

Yes of course! What a great way to surprise a pregnant or postpartum mama and help her investment in herself. She’ll love it!
